The College of Information Technology at Amman Arab University (AAU) Hosts Two Software Engineering Experts to Enhance Students’ Knowledge
Based on Amman Arab University’s commitment to strengthening the practical aspect of education and linking academic courses to the demands of the job market, the College of Information Technology at the university hosted Eng. Mujahid Abu Abda, Quality Assurance Manager at Jo Academy, and designer Baraa Harb, a digital product design and user experience expert at Washmen in the United Arab Emirates. The experts delivered two specialized lectures to the college’s students under the supervision of Dr. Marwan Al-Sayed, a faculty member in the Software Engineering Department at the College of Information Technology, Amman Arab University.
Engineer Abu Abda delivered a comprehensive presentation on software testing and quality assurance, highlighting the rapid advancements in the sector and its pivotal role in producing high-quality software that meets diverse user needs. He discussed the latest innovations and AI-based solutions in this field, as well as the promising career opportunities it offers to students and graduates. This contributes to enhancing their awareness and empowering them to efficiently and professionally meet the evolving demands of the job market. The meeting provided students of the College of Information Technology with an opportunity for direct interaction, allowing them to ask questions and share their insights, which deepened their understanding of practical applications and connected their academic knowledge to real-world scenarios.
Engineer Harb then presented the various stages of user interface and user experience (UI/UX) design and their complementary relationship. She highlighted key developments in the field, emphasizing the importance of designing user interfaces and experiences that align with users’ needs and requirements, and how this improves their interaction with different software products. She also reviewed the career opportunities this specialization offers students and graduates, along with the skills and experience required to enhance their capabilities. The meeting focused on equipping students to efficiently and effectively meet the demands of the job market. It also highlighted the role of artificial intelligence and its impact on reshaping design processes.
At the end of the meeting, students had the opportunity to ask questions and share their insights, which were addressed and discussed, enriching their knowledge, deepening their understanding, and connecting academic theory with practical applications.
In this regard, Dr. Rami Sahwil, Dean of the College of Information Technology at Amman Arab University, emphasized that the college is committed to hosting experts and specialists from various technology sectors.
