The College of Information Technology at Amman Arab University (AAU) Enhances Applied Education by Training BTEC Students

Based on Amman Arab University’s mission to serve the community and strengthen partnerships with educational institutions, the College of Information Technology participated in implementing a training program within the BTEC_WBL (Work-Based Learning) initiative for Information Technology and Business students at Zubia Comprehensive Secondary School for Boys.

This participation took place during the fourth training week, during which Ms. We’am Talafha, a faculty member in the College of Information Technology at Amman Arab University, delivered a specialized practical training session entitled “Creating and Analyzing Spreadsheets and Supporting Decision-Making”. The training aimed to develop students’ technical and practical skills and enable them to utilize modern technological tools in both the workplace and educational environments.

The training witnessed remarkable student engagement, with Ms. Wiam Talafha drawing upon her academic and practical expertise to simplify applied concepts and enhance the participants’ practical skills. This aligns with the objectives of the BTEC vocational and technical education program, which aims to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to meet labor market demands.

In this regard, Dr. Rami Sahwil, Dean of the College of Information Technology at Amman Arab University, emphasized that the college’s participation in such training programs aligns with the university’s vision of promoting applied education and bridging the gap between academic knowledge and labor market needs. He highlighted the importance of empowering students at all educational levels to acquire modern technical and digital skills that contribute to preparing them for their academic and professional futures and enhance their readiness to keep pace with the requirements of digital transformation and rapid technological advancements.

This participation reflects Amman Arab University’s commitment to strengthening its community role and building effective partnerships with educational institutions, thereby supporting students and equipping them with practical skills that meet labor market needs and keep pace with modern technological developments.
