Engineering College at Amman Arab University (AAU) Organizes Interactive Activity for Children Titled “The World of Professions”
As part of Amman Arab University’s commitment to strengthening its role in community service, advancing its mission of supporting education and interactive learning, and leveraging academic and practical expertise to serve the local community, the University continues to implement high-quality initiatives and activities that contribute to developing children’s and students’ skills and enhancing their knowledge and awareness through innovative educational approaches.
In this context, the College of Engineering organized an interactive educational activity entitled “The World of Professions” at Al-Shatha Nursery in Zarqa, under the supervision of Eng. Mona Al-Momani, a faculty member at the College of Engineering.
The activity aimed to introduce children to a diverse range of professions and occupations, highlight their roles in serving the community, and raise their awareness of the importance of work and the diversity of career fields. This was achieved through presenting simple and realistic examples of various professions, showcasing the tools and clothing associated with them, and conducting role-playing activities, interactive competitions, and educational games. These activities provided the children with opportunities to participate, express themselves, and learn about the nature and responsibilities of different professions in an enjoyable manner appropriate to their age.
The activity also contributed to developing the children’s communication and teamwork skills, encouraging them to ask questions, explore, and engage in creative thinking, while connecting learning to everyday life situations through a simple, engaging, and practical approach.
The activity witnessed remarkable enthusiasm and active participation from the children, who demonstrated considerable interest in the professions and fields introduced. They actively engaged in the accompanying interactive activities, role-playing exercises, and competitions, which contributed to enhancing their observation, listening, expression, communication, and teamwork skills. The activities also encouraged their ability to ask questions, explore, and think creatively, while reinforcing the importance of work and the diversity of professions within society.
Moreover, the activity fostered children’s appreciation and respect for different professions and the efforts made by professionals in serving their communities, providing an engaging educational experience that combined knowledge, enjoyment, and learning through practice.
The implementation of this activity reflects Amman Arab University’s commitment to strengthening its role in serving the local community and engaging its academic staff in delivering meaningful educational and awareness-raising initiatives for various segments of society.
