Architecture Students at Amman Arab University (AAU) Present Distinguished Graduation Projects Addressing Community Needs

As part of the Faculty of Engineering’s ongoing efforts at Amman Arab University to fulfill its vision and mission of preparing distinguished engineering graduates capable of keeping pace with scientific and technological advancements while serving the community, and in implementation of the directives of the University President, Professor Mohammad Al-Widyan, under the supervision of Dr. Anwar Al-Assaf, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and Dr. Reham Al-Asmar, Chair of the Department of Architecture, students of the Department of Architecture presented and defended their graduation projects for the second semester of the 2025–2026 academic year. The projects were supervised by Professor Hanan Ahmad, a faculty member at the Faculty of Engineering, and attended by faculty members, administrative staff, and students.

The evaluation committee, comprising Professor Ayman Touma, Dr. Farouq Yaghmour, and Eng. Diana Tarazi, commended the outstanding academic and intellectual quality demonstrated by the submitted projects. The committee praised the students’ dedication and the considerable effort invested in successfully completing their projects and achieving the course learning outcomes with excellence.

The committee emphasized that the projects reflected the students’ ability to apply the knowledge and skills they acquired throughout their studies to develop innovative architectural solutions that respond to real-world challenges and contemporary professional requirements. The projects were distinguished by their diversity and strong alignment with the needs of local communities in Jordan, addressing cultural, technological, developmental, and entrepreneurial themes.

The students presented a range of forward-looking architectural proposals, including an Interactive Center for Documenting Palestinian Resilience, a Multi-Discipline Hub for Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence, The Arab Incubator for Innovative Projects and Entrepreneurship, and a Mixed-Use Pedestrian Park designed to integrate recreational and cultural functions. These projects demonstrate the students’ awareness of societal challenges and their ability to develop architectural visions that meet future needs.

The graduation projects presented were as follows:

• Enas Mousa Mohammad Ramadan – Interactive Center for Documenting Palestinian Resilience

• Dana Ghazi Mohammad Attari – Multi-Discipline Hub for Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence

• Sarah Ahmad Shweikani – The Arab Incubator for Innovative Projects and Entrepreneurship

• Abeer Mustafa Mohammad Zahra – Mixed-Use Pedestrian Park

At the conclusion of the presentations, the evaluation committee reaffirmed the exceptional academic and creative standards reflected in the students’ work, noting that the projects showcase the quality of the University’s educational outcomes and the professional competencies students have developed throughout their academic journey. The committee also highlighted the Department of Architecture’s and the Faculty of Engineering’s commitment to fostering creativity and innovation, strengthening the integration of theoretical knowledge with practical application, and reinforcing the connection between academic education and the evolving needs of society and the labor market. These efforts contribute to preparing highly qualified architects equipped with the expertise and capabilities required to actively support national development and meet the evolving demands of the engineering profession.
