Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences at Amman Arab University (AAU) Organizes Specialized Training Workshop on Blood Drawing
In line with Amman Arab University’s vision of providing a comprehensive educational environment that combines theoretical knowledge with practical application, and its ongoing commitment to developing students’ skills and refining their professional capabilities in line with labor market requirements, the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences organized a specialized training workshop titled “Blood Drawing.” The workshop was delivered by Ms. Aseel Al-Wahidi, Laboratory Supervisor at the Faculty, with wide participation from students of the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences and the Faculty of Pharmacy.
In this regard, Dr. Wesam Al-Wazani, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences, stated that the workshop aimed to equip students with the fundamental knowledge and skills related to blood drawing procedures, in accordance with scientific principles and standard practices adopted in medical laboratories. This contributes to strengthening students’ applied competencies and enhancing their professional readiness for the requirements of the healthcare job market.
The workshop consisted of both theoretical and practical components. The theoretical component covered the fundamentals of sample collection, safe patient handling procedures, and proper handling of laboratory specimens, in addition to introducing the tools used and general safety procedures. The practical component provided students with the opportunity to apply blood-drawing procedures directly under specialized supervision, thereby helping to reinforce the knowledge gained and maximize its practical benefits. The workshop saw notable engagement from participants, who showed strong interest in the training content and a genuine desire to develop their laboratory skills and gain the practical experience necessary for their professional future.
This workshop is part of a series of training activities and specialized workshops organized by the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences at Amman Arab University, affirming its commitment to developing students’ skills and preparing them academically and professionally in line with recent developments and labor market needs.
