Pharmacy at Amman Arab University (AAU) Participates in a Specialized Scientific Day on Professional Development and Safe Pharmacy Practice
As part of Amman Arab University’s efforts to strengthen its presence in specialized scientific and professional forums, the Faculty of Pharmacy participated in the activities of the Third Scientific Day, titled (Pharmacy between Professional Development and Practice Safety), organized by the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Hashemite University.
This participation reflects the commitment of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Amman Arab University to promoting academic and professional excellence and providing opportunities for its students and faculty members to engage in specialized scientific events that enrich their knowledge, develop their skills, and keep pace with recent developments in the pharmaceutical field, thereby contributing to refining their competencies and enhancing their awareness of emerging trends in the pharmacy sector.
The Faculty of Pharmacy was represented at the Scientific Day by faculty members Mohammad Khalil, PhD, and Hanan Albataineh, PhD, as well as students Deema Al-Mafarjeh, Leen Mohammad, and Rahaf Abu Safi. The participants attended specialized scientific sessions that discussed the latest developments and trends in pharmacy practice and continuing professional development.
The Scientific Day included a range of specialized topics related to safe pharmacy practice, professional development, and the regulations and instructions governing the pharmacy sector, cosmetics, and skincare products. It also addressed topics related to health awareness and the monitoring of advertisements and professional practices, contributing to enhancing participants’ professional knowledge and keeping them informed of the rapid developments in the pharmaceutical sector.
In this regard, Professor Rana Abu-Huwaij, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Amman Arab University, noted that the faculty of pharmacy continues to support and encourage its students and faculty members to participate in specialized scientific and professional activities and events. This stems from the Faculty’s belief in the importance of such participation in developing academic and professional skills, strengthening practical experience, and broadening knowledge, thereby enhancing Amman Arab University’s presence and standing in academic and professional circles locally and regionally. For his part, Dr. Khalil emphasized the importance of students’ participation in such scientific and professional events, as they play a key role in linking academic knowledge with practical applications in the pharmacy work environment. He also highlighted their role in familiarizing students with the requirements of safe professional practice and the challenges they may face in their professional lives after graduation.
Meanwhile, Dr. Hanan Albataineh pointed out that students’ attendance at specialized scientific events enhances their readiness to enter the labor market by broadening their professional perspectives, developing their communication and interaction skills with experts and specialists, and strengthening their ability to apply academic knowledge in real professional situations.
Student Deema Al-Mafarjeh expressed her appreciation for participating in the Scientific Day, noting that the experience provided a valuable opportunity to learn about contemporary professional topics closely related to her field of specialization. She added that it contributed to expanding her professional awareness and enhancing her readiness to enter the labor market and practice the profession with competence and confidence.
