Amman Arab University’s (AAU) Faculty of Pharmacy Organizes Workshop Titled “Mastering Scientific Writing Skills”
As part of Amman Arab University’s commitment to developing students’ skills in preparing and writing scientific research according to modern academic standards, the Faculty of Pharmacy organized a specialized workshop entitled “Mastering Scientific Writing Skills.” The workshop was delivered by Dr. Lubna Gharaibeh, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, and attended by a number of pharmacy students.
The workshop covered several key themes aimed at enhancing participants’ competencies in scientific research and academic writing. Topics included the fundamentals of preparing a scientific manuscript in accordance with internationally recognized academic standards, as well as methods for writing scientific abstracts and research introductions in a professional academic style. The workshop also addressed methodologies for presenting, analyzing, and discussing research findings accurately and scientifically.
In addition, the workshop emphasized the importance of research ethics, strategies for avoiding plagiarism, and criteria for selecting reputable scientific journals suitable for publication. It further highlighted common challenges and mistakes in scientific writing, proper academic referencing techniques, and effective approaches for responding to reviewers’ and referees’ comments. Practical guidance was also provided to help improve the likelihood of manuscript acceptance in indexed and internationally ranked scientific journals.
The workshop witnessed remarkable engagement from participants through practical examples and rich scientific discussions, which contributed to deepening their understanding of sound scientific writing principles and strengthening their academic communication skills. These outcomes support the quality of research outputs and enhance the professional and academic competencies of researchers.
At the conclusion of the workshop, participants expressed their appreciation for the rich scientific and practical content presented, emphasizing the importance of organizing such training workshops in promoting research culture, developing young researchers’ skills, and improving their competencies in scientific writing and publication, ultimately reflecting positively on the quality of their academic production and research careers.
