The College of Pharmacy at Amman Arab University (AAU) Participates in a Training Workshop Organized by the Jordanian Breast Cancer Program on “Effective Communication and Emotional Intelligence”
As part of efforts to strengthen Amman Arab University’s partnership with national health institutions and support awareness and community initiatives, the university’s College of Pharmacy participated in a specialized training workshop organized by the Jordan Breast Cancer Program at the King Hussein Foundation and Center, titled: “Principles of Effective Communication and Emotional Intelligence in Promoting Health,” which was held at the Corp Hotel/Amman. Representing Amman Arab University at the workshop were Dr. Nuseibah Al Qtaish and Dr. Haya El-Qaderi, faculty members of the college, along with a select group of students from the college: Aya Shubeita, Layan Salamat, and Raneen Jabaite.
The workshop aimed to develop the skills of academic staff and students in the areas of effective health communication and the application of emotional intelligence skills in community awareness and advocacy, as well as to enhance their readiness to participate in field and educational activities related to the annual National Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign. The workshop included a series of discussion sessions, practical exercises, and real-life case studies, with remarkable engagement from the participants. This helped refine their skills and enhance their ability to apply the knowledge and experience gained in both university and community settings, as well as to convey health messages more effectively, thereby supporting the concepts of prevention and early detection.
This participation aligns with the approach of the College of Pharmacy at Amman Arab University to empower students and faculty members to engage in high-quality health events and programs, and to link academic theory with practical and community applications, thereby strengthening the role of pharmacists as active partners in the healthcare system, and as a contributor to promoting a culture of health and prevention and serving the community.
