Faculty of Pharmacy at Amman Arab University (AAU) Holds Master’s Thesis Defense Sessions in Pharmacovigilance and Regulatory Affairs
As part of an academic achievement that reflects Amman Arab University’s commitment to excellence in scientific research, strengthening innovation and creativity, and preparing specialized competencies that meet the needs of vital sectors, the Faculty of Pharmacy at the university held its first master’s thesis defense sessions for students enrolled in the Pharmacovigilance and Regulatory Affairs program.
The sessions were attended by Professor Dr. Ismail Yamin, Assistant President for Academic Affairs and Dean of Scientific Research and Graduate Studies; Professor Dr. Rana Abu Hawij, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy; a distinguished group of faculty members and thesis defense committees; in addition to students, specialists, and professionals interested in the pharmaceutical industry and healthcare sectors. The sessions took place in an academic atmosphere characterized by meaningful scholarly discussions and the exchange of expertise and knowledge.
The thesis defense sessions demonstrated a distinguished academic standard, reflecting the quality of the research outcomes achieved by students in the program. Students presented findings from their research projects covering a variety of important topics in pharmacovigilance, medication safety, and regulatory affairs, alongside studies addressing the latest pharmaceutical practices in line with scientific developments and the growing needs of the healthcare sector.
The sessions included the defense of master’s theses presented by the students: Musaed Al-Ruwaili under the supervision of Professor Dr. Rana Abu Huwaij, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy; Amneh Abu Qamar and Wissam Al-Hilu under the supervision of Dr. Lobna Gharaibeh, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy; Ibtidaa Al-Zoubi under the supervision of Dr. Sarah Naser Al-Din, Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy; and Areen Abu Roman under the supervision of Dr. Nusaibah Al-Qteish, faculty member at the Faculty of Pharmacy.
The defense committees commended the academic quality of the theses, highlighting their originality and sound research methodologies, while also providing scientific recommendations aimed at enriching the studies and enhancing their research value.
On this occasion, Dr. Abu Huwaij emphasized that these scientific theses embody the students’ research efforts and represent a genuine outcome of the integration between academic and practical dimensions. She pointed to their important role in supporting scientific knowledge and enriching research in pharmaceutical and regulatory fields that have a direct impact on the quality of healthcare and patient safety.
At the conclusion of the defense sessions, the committees praised the high academic and research standards demonstrated by students of the Pharmacovigilance and Regulatory Affairs program at Amman Arab University, as well as the efforts invested in conducting the studies and adhering to rigorous scientific methodology. The committees also congratulated the students and wished them continued success and excellence in their academic and professional careers.
