Amman Arab University’s (AAU) College of Engineering Participates in the “Intaleq” Competition for Graduation Projects at Jordanian Universities
As part of Amman Arab University’s commitment to supporting innovation and entrepreneurship and enhancing the role of its students in developing innovative and sustainable engineering solutions, the University’s College of Engineering participated in the 2026 “Intaleq” Competition for Graduation Projects at Jordanian Universities, in the field of energy and water technologies. The College participated through a number of distinguished student projects under the supervision of Dr. Omar Ahmad and Dr. Ayman Agha, faculty members at the College of Engineering. The projects were showcased as part of the exhibition of projects qualifying for the competition, held at Signia by Hilton Amman, with the participation of a distinguished group of university graduation projects in engineering and technology-related fields.
Two teams of Amman Arab University students participated in the competition. The first team, supervised by Dr. Omar Ahmad, presented a project entitled “Smart Design Strategies for Water Supply and Wastewater Systems.” The project explored the application of smart design approaches to developing innovative solutions for water resource management and improving the efficiency of water supply and wastewater systems. The team comprised students Mohammad Abu Farah, Ameed Assi, Mohammad Awad, and Yazan Abu Salim.
The second team, supervised by Dr. Ayman Agha, presented a project entitled “Sustainable Solutions from Sludge: Biodegradable Plastic, Water Purification, and Fuel Cell Integration.” The project reflects the University’s commitment to supporting student projects that employ modern technologies in water and energy treatment while combining innovation with environmental sustainability. The team comprised students Abdullah Abu Rabi, Nadwan Al-Qudah, Sahl Al-Jawabreh, and Adnan Al-Ghazawi.
On this occasion, Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Widian, President of Amman Arab University, emphasized that the University’s participation in the “Intalaq” Competition for Graduation Projects at Jordanian Universities reflects its approach to supporting student creativity and innovation and encouraging applied research that translates academic knowledge into practical solutions addressing developmental challenges. He noted that the University places considerable emphasis on empowering students to develop high-quality projects in vital fields, particularly energy and water, in ways that strengthen their capacity for innovation and problem-solving, open broader opportunities for competition and excellence, and enhance the University’s presence in national initiatives supporting entrepreneurship and excellence.
For his part, Dr. Anwar Al-Assaf, Dean of the College of Engineering at Amman Arab University, affirmed that the College’s participation in the “Intalaq” Competition reflects its commitment to supporting high-quality graduation projects and strengthening the integration of academic knowledge with practical applications. This enables students to apply their knowledge and skills in developing innovative engineering solutions that respond to real-world challenges. He praised the distinguished level of the participating projects and commended the efforts of Dr. Omar Ahmad and Dr. Ayman Agha, the projects’ supervisors, for guiding and supporting the students in developing innovative ideas and projects in the fields of water, energy, and sustainability, thereby contributing to the development of their engineering capabilities and enhancing their readiness for the labor market.
Amman Arab University’s participation in this competition reaffirms its commitment to nurturing student talent and supporting applied engineering projects that respond to community needs and align with the requirements of sustainable development. It also reflects the University’s efforts to provide an educational environment that encourages innovation and creativity, contributing to the preparation of a generation of engineers capable of applying their knowledge and skills to develop high-quality, sustainable solutions to future challenges.
