Amman Arab University and Ibdaa Association Organize First Robotics and Technical Engineering Competition for Ain Al-Basha Schools Under Minister of Culture’s Patronage

Under the patronage of His Excellency Minister of Culture Mustafa Al-Rawashdeh, Amman Arab University in partnership with Ibdaa Association organized the first Robotics and Technical Engineering Competition for local community schools in Ain Al-Basha District at the university campus. The event reflected the university’s commitment to social responsibility and supporting applied education through an interactive training environment that enhances creativity and links theoretical knowledge with practical application.

Attendees included Mr. Wasfi Al-Tawil, Director of the Royal Cultural Center and Director of Balqa Governorate’s Culture Directorate (representing the Minister), Prof Dr Mohammad Al-Widyan (University President), Prof Dr Ismail Yamin (Assistant President for Academic Affairs), Dr Husam Al-Hamad (Assistant President for Planning and Quality Assurance), Ms Nadia Al-Qadimat (Assistant President for Financial and Administrative Affairs), Ms Maha Darwish (President of Ibdaa Association), and Dr Arjuwana Al-Momani (Director of Ain Al-Basha District Education Directorate).

Seventy students from local schools participated, divided into seven teams after qualifying through preliminary evaluations following intensive training in robot design, programming, basic electrical circuits, scientific documentation, and research on the competition’s “Green City” theme.

Dr Al-Hamad stated the competition embodies the university’s vision of serving the local community by investing in youth and fostering innovation in technology and artificial intelligence. He highlighted the participation of IT students in supervising school projects, demonstrating the university’s commitment to social responsibility and developing qualified professionals.

Ms Darwish emphasized that Ibdaa Association and the university developed a comprehensive training program to enhance public school students’ robotics and technical engineering skills, acknowledging the university’s crucial support in providing facilities and student mentors.

The event saw remarkable student engagement, with projects showcasing exceptional creativity and innovation. The closing ceremony featured project presentations and honored winning teams, trainers, and judges.
