Amman Arab University Hosts “Mini Thailand Festival” to Foster Cultural Exchange with Thai Ambassador in Attendance
Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Widyan, President of Amman Arab University, and in the presence of the Thai Ambassador, the Deanship of Student Affairs, in collaboration with the Thai Student Union in Jordan, organized the “Mini Thailand Festival.” The event saw distinguished participation from the Royal Thai Embassy in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
The festival was also attended by Brigadier Yanal Sael Al-Jazi, Secretary-General of the Police Sports Federation, Mr. Maher Al-Shakhatreh, President of the Jordan-Thai Friendship Association, along with association members, Thai Embassy officials and staff, Dr. Mohammed bin Tarif, Dean of Student Affairs, as well as faculty, administrative staff, and university students.
The festival featured a variety of cultural and entertainment activities, including participation from renowned Thai restaurants in Jordan and the Thai Student Association, which showcased authentic Thai cuisine, beverages, and desserts.
In his speech, Dr. Ben Tarif emphasized the strong Jordanian-Thai relations and highlighted the importance of enhancing cultural and educational cooperation between the two countries, particularly in facilitating Thai students’ enrollment at the university. He also called for expanding collaboration between Amman Arab University students and Thai students in Jordan, encouraging their participation in competitions launched by the Thai Embassy to promote tourism and Thai cuisine.
The Police Sports Federation of the Public Security Directorate delivered a remarkable performance in kickboxing and Muay Thai, alongside educational activities aimed at raising awareness of Thai culture, language, and tourism. The festival concluded with student competitions and prize distributions, creating an atmosphere of joy and engagement.
The event witnessed an outstanding turnout from university students, faculty, and administrative staff, who actively participated in the diverse activities, fostering a lively atmosphere of cultural exchange and celebration.
